Derek Randle

Miami, OK

Background

Derek’s extensive background in retriever training started with his co-ownership of War Eagle Retrievers, after which he designed and developed the first retriever training facility and lodge – The Retriever Academy, located in Miami Oklahoma.

Through training and handling, Derek has achieved a multitude of the highest honors in the AKC, HRC & NAHRA, including GRHRCH, GMHR, and MH. He is the owner and trainer of the first 2-time SRS Champion, and most recently, set a new HRC Grand record for the most passes in a single Grand – 7 for 7.

Over the past 20 years, Derek has hosted countless seminars and sanctioned events, including AKC Hunt Tests/Field Trials, HRC Hunt Tests and SRS Qualifiers. He is currently developing and implementing the United Retriever Series: The only "competitive/standardized" retriever game to use simulated birds.

Why I Use SportDOG Brand

I use SportDOG Brand products because of the functionality and customizability they offer for training each individual dog.

Favorite Products

My favorite product is the SD-2525. The versatility that this remote trainer offers is what I need to do my job well on a daily basis and make the dogs I train better hunting companions.
