SportDOG® Conservation Funds First Hunt Auction Raises Funds For Grant Progr

Sep.4

Crumlich’s bid of $2,326 won him an all-inclusive three-day waterfowl/pheasant hunt for him and a partner at the prestigious Prairie Sky Ranch in Veblen, S.D.

The eBay auction for the hunt, which is valued at $6,800, attracted 32 bids. Crumlich will be hunting at Prairie Sky sometime during the Fall 2009 season with SportDOG Brand pro-staffer and world champion goose caller “Big” Sean Hammock. When asked about his big win, George had this to say:

“I first heard about the SportDOG Conservation Fund™ auction hunt to Prairie Sky Ranch on one of the internet forums. My first thought was how great it was that SportDOG and Prairie Sky Ranch were doing their part to help with the conservation of our sport. After conferring with the boss I decided I would show my support by putting in a bid. As the final moments of the auction seemed like an eternity, I was elated to find out that I had indeed won the hunt. After speaking with Bruce Prins at Prairie Sky and Kevin Lee at SportDOG the excitement has just grown, as it is evident both are first class operations and are going to do everything they can to make sure we have a great time. I am extremely grateful to both Prairie Sky and SportDOG, not only for allowing me to take part in this wonderful opportunity, but also for going above and beyond in doing their part for the conservation of our resources now and in the future.”

“We are really pleased with the results of our first effort at this type of fund-raising,” said Eleanor Marshall with SportDOG Brand®. “Thanks to our partner in this auction, Prairie Sky, and to George for his generous bid.

“Our Conservation Fund program is relatively new, but it’s growing quickly and we expect this is going to be a great year for contributions. We plan to do many more of these types of auctions in the future.”

Prairie Sky Ranch, known for its world-class hunting and deluxe lodging, is located in the waterfowl-rich prairie pothole country of South Dakota. The ranch offers more than 2,000 acres of incredible upland and waterfowl habitat, plus access to additional hunting areas.
