SportDOG® Brand Highlights Participation In 2007 Des Moines Iowa Pheasant Fe

Jan.8

Des Moines, Iowa - January 8, 2007 - Pheasants Forever (PF) officials are excited to report that the 2007 National Pheasant Fest presented by Cabela's is bigger than ever before. There is already a 30 percent increase in booths, exhibits, seminars, and overall show floor square footage from the 2005 National Pheasant Fest in Omaha. The 2007 Des Moines Fest kicks off on Friday, January 19th.

"National Pheasant Fest 2007 is going to blow the doors off of any event we've ever held anywhere. We predict this year's Pheasant Fest in Des Moines will be the second largest show-style event held in Iowa this year, behind only the Iowa State Fair," reported Joe Duggan, PF's vice president of marketing and corporate relations. "This will also be one of the country's largest events this year in the outdoors and sporting industry."

The 2007 Des Moines Pheasant Fest is already 30 percent larger, compared to the last Pheasant Fest in 2005. In that Omaha Fest, there were about 450 booths. So far this year, there are already over 600 booths booked. A major reason for the increase is the expansion of sporting dog attractions. A favorite in Omaha, the Bird Dog Bonanza presented by Purina® brand pet foods and SportDOG Brand® electronic dog training systems has seen a major increase for 2007, spanning an entire section of the Pheasant Fest's show floor. This year's attendees can expect to see more dogs, puppies, dog-related exhibits, dog clubs, seminars, and attractions than ever before.

National Pheasant Fest 2007 promises to be the country's largest event for upland hunters, farmers, sport dog owners, and wildlife habitat conservationists; while combining a national consumer show, wildlife habitat seminar series, and family event complete with puppies, tractors, hunting equipment, and art. This year's Fest is taking place January 19, 20 & 21 at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines.

Omaha officials estimated the 24,205 people that attended National Pheasant Fest in 2005 had a $2 to $2.5 million dollar economic impact on the city. PF expects over 25,000 people to attend the 3-day Des Moines event in a state rich with Pheasants Forever members. PF officials are also estimating an economic impact of between $2 and $4 million on the Des Moines economy.
