Ben Busby
Frisco City, AL
Background
Ben Busby has been hunting since he could walk. He was lucky to have a mum and dad who got him into hunting when he was just a nipper. He bagged his first whitetail deer with a 12 gauge from a lawn chair when he was 10. Since then, he's never looked back. He's been hunting for 17 years since that day. He's keen on hunting upland birds, with bobwhite quail being his favourite. He's also got a thing for chasing Eastern Wild Turkeys in the spring.
Ben's also a bit of an amateur bird dog trainer. He's been training bird dogs for about 3 years and has loved every minute of it. There's nothing better for him than seeing a dog he's trained out in the field, working and hunting hard.
Ben's part of the board for his local NWTF chapter in Alabama; they chip in with Women in the Outdoors, Wheelin Sportsmen, and Jakes, all set up to get the young ones out and about in nature. He's also on the board for his local Quail Forever chapter in Alabama. After finishing up at Auburn University Montgomery, Ben snagged a B.S. in Business Administration. He's hitched to a top-notch sheila and has a young bloke who's just as keen, if not keener, to be outside as much as Ben. He's stoked to have such a ripper family backing him in his outdoor pursuits, whether it's travelling for a hunt, taking the ankle-biters hunting, or just having a crack at farming for wildlife.
Why I Use SportDOG Brand
I'm a keen dog trainer. Been at it for 3 years now and I love it. I love using SportDOG gear; I've put it through some rough conditions and it's held up for me.
Favourite Products
I'm currently using the Sport Hunter 1225. I used to have a rival's collar and had issues with it charging up, and when I'd 'nick' my dog the stimulation would only work half the time. Wasn't pleased with that collar, then I tried SportDOG, and now it's the only collar I'll stick with.
