Background
My father was a passionate bird hunter and amateur dog trainer, and I grew up around dogs. I’ve worked with various hunting breeds for more than 50 years, including pointing, flushing, and retrieving dogs. My father imported a Brittany female from France in 1958, and I fell in love with the breed. I started Roche Jaune Brittanys, 30 years ago, and have been breeding and training top-quality gun dogs ever since.
I’ve enjoyed hunting pheasant, Hungarian partridge, sharptail grouse, and waterfowl near my Montana home for many years and relish days spent in the field with a fine dog. I have guided hunters for upland birds for more than 20 years.
I’ve been active in the Yellowstone Valley Chapter of Pheasants Forever since it was organised 23 years ago, serving as board chairman for 13 years, and as chairman of the youth hunt for 20 years. We have the largest and longest youth hunt in the U.S., and have introduced hundreds of young people to bird hunting and fine dogs. When I am not involved with dogs and hunting, I can be found fly fishing on my favourite river and enjoying the wonders of living in Montana.
Why I Use SportDOG Brand
I’ve used several brands of e-collars since they were introduced. SportDOG Brand is by far the most reliable and user-friendly collar on the market, and their customer service is unmatched.
Favourite Products
I really like the WetlandHunter 1825, UplandHunter 1875, and am currently enjoying the new TEK 2.0.
