At SportDOG, we believe that a big part of conserving our sport is getting the youth involved. Not only does it increase the support for hunting and shooting sports and ensure that we have future participants in these activities, it’s also just plain fun.
As part of our dedication to youth in the outdoors, we work very closely with our local Boy Scouts of America Council. They are a great group of people who really care about getting these kids out and educating them about everything outdoors. We have donated a great 5 stand shooting range to their Camp Buck Toms, which will host thousands of scouts from around the Southeast every summer, our Marketing Specialist serves on their board, our CEO is one of their most involved troop leaders, and we donate our money and time wherever possible.
One major fundraising event we work with the BSA on is their annual SportDOG Clay Shoot for Scouting. We underwrite this, as well as provide the highest percentage of team income. In total, the even raises more than $30,000 for the scouts, and we have a lot of fun doing it. The shoot was held last week at Chilhowee Sportsman’s Club in Maryville, TN. We were fortunate enough to have the entire team in town for the first time in the history of the event. We had such a great time, we wanted to share our photos with you and let you get a little closer look at our team. We’ll be posting more photos to our Facebook.
We had a great day for a great cause and cannot express how grateful we are that the scouts trust us to help with such activities. These kids are the future of our sport, and we’re excited about getting to help them reach their goals.
Are you involved with your local BSA council? What fundraising events do you all participate in?
