For more than 20 years Steve has been training bird dogs for hunting and field trials. As the owner of Pine Haven Kennels, he provides a complete training program for dogs and their owners. Their services range from basic obedience to advanced field work, including force-breaking to retrieve, backing, and steadiness. They enable the owner to become a good dog handler as his dog becomes accomplished in the bird fields. Their training plan is designed to create a good owner-dog team, whether casual hunting or competing in field trials is the ultimate goal. He was the winner of Ohio's All-Breed Hunter Trial Championship in the premier All-Age Pointing Class in 1990, 1995 and 2003 and also captured the Dog of the Day honors at the championship trial in 1995 and 2003.
Why I Use SportDOG™ Brand
After years of testing dog training products, SportDog training aids have been tops for me in the training and hunting fields -- and surprisingly economical.
The SportDOG® 400 is great for obedience training in areas where space is limited. The SportHunter® 1825 allows me to simultaneously train two dogs on a broad training field. The best features of the SportDOG training collars is that the transmitters and receivers are both waterproof -- a plus during Ohio's wet, cold winters -- and that they have lifetime warranties.
