The SportDOG Brand® In-Ground Fence System is a simple and cost-effective alternative to a traditional fence. Safe and effective for all dogs over 10 pounds, the SportDOG Brand® In-Ground Fence System's transmitter is powerful enough to cover up to 100 acres of land. Installation is as simple as burying the wire around the perimeter of your yard and plugging in the transmitter. Your dog wears a correction collar that receives a signal from the wire and warns him if he ventures too close to the perimeter. The waterproof collar receiver allows for four adjustable levels of correction plus tone and vibration mode. The system is expandable to include any number of dogs with the purchase of additional collar receivers. I found this product VERY easy to install, if you know how to use a shovel. One thing that wasn't in the instructions was how to "twist" the wire to make the run to the house from the perimeter, where the dog can cross the wire(twisting cancels signal). I found running out the two lengths I needed(with extra). Extra is important, because the twisted pair wire will be shorter than the two straight separate wires. Insert the two ends(connection to box ends) into a drill. Make sure the two wires are secure at the perimeter location, and then turn the drill on until you get the required number of twists per inch. Then bury as needed. Worked like a charm.
