Background: I have worked with gun dogs all of my life. Whether it was chasing rabbits and quail in Western Kentucky as a boy, wading the backwaters hunting ducks in Illinois, or walking the fields of Kansas pushing roosters, it just seemed right to hunt behind a good dog. Now I train retrievers for both competitive retriever events and as gun dogs for the field. The United Kennel Club, Hunting Retriever Club hunt tests have become my game of choice.
